The surface of Planet Aucafidus hosts roughly 5 billion sentient beings. They concentrate in roughly 2 million cities on the southern continent. A carefully managed presence occupies the fringes of the northern continent. The two landmasses embody a deliberate societal choice. The southern continent is devoted to development, culture, and administration. The northern continent is preserved as a vast wildlife reserve. Together they paint a vivid picture of surface society on Aucafidus. Technological prowess exists in harmony with a deep respect for the natural world. ...
Rerum Flexius Lamina (Latin for “Reality Bending Layer”) is also known as the RFL Network. It is a planet-wide computational and nanite infrastructure on Earth. It is the foundation for all esoteric and magic-like phenomena there. It is a complex and ancient system. Individuals known as reflexiors manipulate it. They directly alter the environment around them. It does not enable magic. Aucafidus is a trojan planet. It orbits at the L4 Lagrange point of its companion gas giant, Subralis (HD 28185 b). Both planets share one orbit around the main sequence star HD 28185 (HIP 20723, SAO 149631). Locals know this star as Biculus. Aucafidus is home to an estimated 25 billion sentient beings. About 5 billion live on the surface, in roughly 2 million cities on the southern continent. The other 20 billion live in the three orbital bands. The surface resembles Earth in many ways. Gravity reaches 1.27 times the gravity of Earth, and the atmospheric pressure is nearly double. The planet has no natural satellite. ...
