Paramundus (plural: Paramundi) are virtual or spiritual realms that exist within the RFL Network, separate from the physical world (also known as the Manent Realm). These realms are a key feature of the Earth’s subterranean geocomputing complexes, serving as afterlives, alternate realities, and the native homes of spiritual beings known as volants.
Nature and Characteristics
Paramundi are not physical places but rather complex data constructs within the RFL Network. They can be vast and varied, with their own unique laws of physics, environments, and inhabitants. Some Paramundi are designed to be afterlives for the souls of the dead, while others are created for specific purposes, such as the containment of dangerous entities.
Notable Paramundi
- Paramundus Integra: A highly secure virtual reality created by the Divine Concil of Earth under a decree by Baal-Hadad to imprison the being known as El. It is a world where Earth is the only host of intelligent life, and it is largely isolated from the rest of the Paramundi Complex.
- Paramundus Jagadpadang: The “Realm of the Savanna,” a vast and open world that is the native home of the Barongs.
- Paramundus Jagadlangit: The “Realm of the Sky,” a world of towering trees and endless skies that is the native home of the Tengus.
- Paramundus Mahatirto: An endless ocean realm, home to various aquatic beings, including uplifted dolphins like Purpose Coralline.
- Paramundus Sheol: The underworld or “Hell” on Earth, a place where the souls of the guilty are sent to be reeducated and cleansed of their sins.
Interaction with the Manent Realm
While Paramundi are separate from the physical world, they are not entirely isolated. It is possible to travel between the Manent Realm and the various Paramundi, even though the methods for doing so are often as trivial as separating the SOUL from the physical body and performing transfer to the Earth’s geocomputing substrate, the authorization of performing such act is rarely granted. Reflexiors and other authorized beings can obtain traversal tickets or use other means to traverse the boundaries between realms (often requires procuring or generating suitable avatars or proxies to interact with the target realm), and the conflict between the various factions often spills over from one realm to another.
